5 San José and Central Valley Golf Courses

Generally, you find the largest variety of Golf choices in the Central Valley, and especially in and around San José.

 

1) Los Reyes Country Club

The Los Reyes Golf Course is part of the larger Los Reyes Country Club, is open to visitors, and is located in Alajuela, particularly in the Guacima area.

You can reach it via Route 27 (Autopista del Sol) taking the Guácima exit. From the Juan Santamaría airport, you can reach it via Santa Antonio de Belén.

The Course

  • The opening hours are Mondays between 07:00 am and 03:00 pm and Tuesday to Sunday between 06:30 am and 04:00 pm
  • A 9-hole course with an extension of 2917 yards for the gentlemen and 2721 yards for the ladies
  • Golf instructor available from Tuesdays to Sundays, between 06:30 am and 04:30 pm

The Cariari Country Club is one of the oldest Clubs in Costa Rica and was founded in 1973.

The Four Seasons Golf Club is located on the Papagayo Peninsula and features stunning views of the Pacific Ocean on 15 of its 18 holes. It is part of the Four Seasons Hotel and thus only reserved for guests.

The Hacienda Pinilla Golf Course is a 7200 yards Golf course, founded in 2001, and designed by the well-known Mike Young.

In general, there are only two options for golf courses in the Central Pacific area, but they exist.

1) Los Delfines
The Los Delfines Golf and Country Club is located close to Tambor on the Peninsula de Nicoya. The course itself is located in the center of the Country Club.
